SAA 18"-20" 6.5 Grendel (264 LBC Type 1) YHM Diamond Quad Complete Upper Receiver - Blackhole SS Barrel *CUSTOMIZABLE*

I purchased my 18" SAA Grendel upper in 2016. Very happy with the purchase. Build quality is great and feels very solid. I added a 3-9 power Nikon Scope and have found the upper to be very accurate.
I love being able to shoot Wolf steel case ammo for the same price as 223 ammo, but with a more potent round.
My son killed his first deer with the rifle at over 300 yards. The deer dropped immediately with Hornady SST ammo. Very impressed with this little round.
I would recommend this upper to anyone wanting to use their AR-15 to deer / coyote hunt. Very little recoil for a younger or smaller frame Hunter and more take down power than 223. Great purchase.

I did a lot of research before I made this purchase which consisted of an 18 inch and a 20 inch complete upper. Each upper will be mounted on an Aero lower and will be designated for different purposes. I found barrels that may be more accurate. However, the cost was prohibitive. The SAA set-up was the most accurate and has proven to be very reliable for the money I had to spend. I was so pleased with this purchase that I am purchasing a 5.56 upper as a gift for a friend.

Opening the box I found a very nice looking upper assembly. On the range I found it performed as well as it looks. The barrel shoots very well. Nice tight, consistent groups. The brake is as effective as any other. it's hard to tell if it's the brake or the weight of the barrel dampening recoil. The unit may be over-gassed as the upper is hard on brass. It leaves a crease where it strikes the back edge of the ejection port opening on ejection. I'm currently running a "H" buffer but will install a H2 and H3 to see if it tames recoil impulse and mitigates the brass dings. I would buy again.

I purchased the 18-inch barrel option with the Dragon's Head muzzle break. And now, I am glad that I did. This is a heavy upper with the combination of the upper, bull barrel and muzzle break weighing in at almost 7 lbs. The addition of the scope, lower and ammo will make this an 11 pounder. Quite a lot to haul around. So any weight savings is an added bonus. Besides, I will probably never have that 800 + yard shot here in the eastern woods. Plus the things that add to the weight also contribute to the consistent accuracy of the rifle. Before I made the purchase, I did my homework. This SAA product delivers the greatest value for cost, accuracy, consistency and plain good looks.

I was a little uneasy about the quality of the products before ordering so I called and talked with a representative. The guy knew what he was talking about and answered my questions. I ordered the 20" Grendel upper and it shoots great. I haven't taken the time to measure moa but three out of four shots touching at 100 yards with me behind the trigger (without the gun in a sled/vice) is a great. I am extremely happy with the quality of the upper. My only complaint is the weight of the upper but that's also why it is accurate shot after shot. It does everything I needed expected it to do. Planning on using this for build for hogs/varmints. The product shipped quickly (less than two weeks) and I have recommended the company to my friends.

This upper is a great shooter, I’ve only had it out twice but I am consistently getting five shot groups under an inch. The lower I’m using is more of a tactical setup so the ergonomics aren’t the best for precision shooting but I expect my groups to get smaller once I mate this upper to an appropriate lower receiver.
