Product Description
SAA 16" 5.56 NATO Lightweight 1:7 Match 416R Stainless Steel Black Oxide AR-15 Barrel
This SAA barrel is 416R Stainless Steel (SS) Match chamber with 1:7 twist rate Polygonal rifling, Carbine-length gas system and standard 5.56 1/2x28 threads. As with all of our AR15 barrels, this barrel will work with any and every mil-spec upper receiver, forged or billet.
SS barrels have the advantage over military chrome-lined barrels since chrome lining diminishes the barrel's potential accuracy while SS barrels have clean rifling and chambers (verses lined barrels). SS has the advantage over chromoly barrels as SS is easier to clean as well as being corrosion resistant. Polygonal rifling has many advantages over classic lands & grooves rifling. Polygonal is easier to clean (L&G rifling has 90 degree angles verses the obtuse angles of polygonal rifling), longer barrel life (less friction) and greater potential accuracy (a better gas seal with the fired projectile).

SAA 16” 5.56 NATO Barrel
This barrel has all the right stuff. Big difference is polygonal rifling. The only thing that I would have liked different would to have the barrel parkerized or melon item. Otherwise incredible deal for the price.

Excellent value, excellent barrel
In a time when AR parts are hard to find, this barrel is an excellent value. The fit and finish is good, the chamber is cleanly machined, and the VERY inexpensive option to add a headspaced BCG for the barrel makes this an amazing value.
I encountered no problems installing this barrel on a new upper receiver. Gas port is the appropriate size and allows for the gas block to be mounted flush to the shoulder or to have an endcap between the block and the shoulder so there is no built-in limitation against easy installation of a free floated handguard.
having the caliber and twist rate on the end of the barrel is good, as they should not be covered up even with a 15" handguard.
I fully recommend adding the BCG when you buy this barrel.
