Magpul L Plate - fits USGI Aluminum "STANAG" AR15 Mags 5.56x45mm, 3 Pack - Black
The Magpul L-Plate is a floorplate replacement for current issue aluminum USGI 30-round magazines that incorporates a rubberized pad. Bumper pad is made of durable Santoprene rubber overmolded onto a stainless steel plate. Made in the U.S.A. by Magpul.
The Reason for these is to keep your G.I. STANAG mags in good shape when using them for practice. Standard base plates on G.I. mags are just simple metal spring holders so these allow repeated drops when practicing reloading mags in your AR-15 (or whatever it is you have that takes AR mags). The advantage of these over the Magpul standard Magpuls (part# MAG001) or Ranger plates (MAG020) is the shortest added extra length these add versus the other options. And they still help extract your G.I. mags from your gear better than the original base plate.
