These bullets are factory NEW, unfired M856 "tracer" (construction), NO igniting tracer compound in the base of the projectile and NO orange painted tip (tips are usually painted after loading in the casing). The construction of the M856 projectile is a bimetal thin copper jacket over a steel jacket (see pics of cutout projectile) with a cannelure over a lead core. After reports of early sales of these we filed one down (again, see pics) to find that they do NOT have a Steel Penetrator. Brand new production, Never loaded bullets. Also they are not a "Boat Tail" base.
NOTE: We have attempted to contact every customer that bought these when we were advertising them before as "steel penetrator" with mostly success in getting a hold of everyone. We offered to either take back what they had left, full refund free shipping back, or if they kept them (most did) we offered a partial refund for working with us and to appreciate their business.
These are non-tracing M856 projectiles. It is a longer bullet that was designed to also have the tracer compound within the base along with the igniter at the projectile's base. Even though they are the 60 grain M856, they have an open copper plated base that has a semi-rounded base (not a true boat tail and not quite a "flat base" either). The base is more rolled over. SEE PICS. These do cling to a magnet as they are bimetal (copper over steel, see pics) that will make better use of your 1:7 barrel twist (because they're longer overall length).
NOTE: Even though these are advertised as "non-tracing" do use caution when shooting in dry environments or where fires may occur as a possible result when shooting these rounds.

Incorrect Weight
These bullets are advertised as 64 gr but weight 60 gr without the tracer material. They are quite long to be such a light bullet. Had I known this, I would not have purchased them.
I cannot speak to accuracy and performance, however. I’ve got 100 of them loaded and ready for testing at my next range day. I’m not sure if these will become blasting ammo or show unexpected good performance. We’ll see! -
New M855 bullets w/o incendiary
Great bullet for practice or varmints. A very long body with incendiary cavity at base. These average approx 60.4 gns but are best used with Accurate LT-32 or LT-30 to keep from having severely compressed loads. Extremely accurate at long distances and hold true due to magnetic properties. Would highly recommend these bullets for any use.
