BHW AR-15 16" Carbine M4 Stainless Steel 5.56 1:8 Poly Barrel

I have wanted one of these barrels for a long time now. I had heard reviews all over the board on them. This lived up to all the positive reviews I had read!

I bought this a few years ago for a build and had a gunsmith install it to the upper.

Bad news: It came with a short chamber and had to be reamed a good amount to make minimum factory spec head space. Fortunately the gunsmith discovered this prior to assembly and had no problem correcting it.

Good news: I have put about 1000 rds through it with no issues. MOA or better with most ammo if I do my part. Seems to clean up faster than traditional rifling. Good quality upper that had no issues with a different brand BCG and upper parts. Would have given it 5 stars if the barrel had come ready to fire out of the box.

This is a very good barrel. The barrel looks very good. I am getting 1" grouping at 100 yards with a 3x fixed Nikon p223 scope. I've been using Federal xm855 ammo so far. Received a free stripped upper (Bonus!!!) with this order. Cleaning the barrel is a breeze because of the type of rifling in it. Be sure to do the proper breaking-in of the barrel recommended by BHW. I highly recommend this barrel, and any other BHW barrels. I will be ordering the 18" mid length soon! Buy these you will not regret it.

I ordered this Barrel with the upper receiver from SAA on a Friday and was very pleased with the service on the phone. I had it in my hands on Tuesday and mounted it on my Aeroprecision lower assembly and that I also orderd from SAA. Everything fit perfectly and operated very smoothly. I had a handwritten note in the box that said the nice folks at SAA had headspaced and tested the Nickel Boron BCG that I purchased with this upper receiver and barrel. I thought that was great and shows the service and attention to detail that this company gives to it's customers. I read some reviews that said this Black Hole Weaponry barrel shoots the best MOA with 68 to 75 grain bullets so I bought 100 rounds worth and headed to the range to sight it in. Once I got the scope sighted at 100 yards I started to shoot outstanding sub MOA groups off of a sandbag on the bench. I will try it at 300 yards next and I feel confident that the 75 grain loads will perform sub MOA groups at that range as well. I could not be any happier with this barrel,I have read a lot about the Black Hole Weaponry Polygonal Barrels and for this price I just had to have one. I am very happy with the whole upper receiver assembly and with this barrel. I am especially pleased with the quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail from the staff at SAA. I will be using the Black Hole Weaponry Barrel on my next build, probably a 20" stainless fluted for some varmint shooting. Great Barrel!

i personally own three of these barrels in various calibers (5.56, 6.8, 300blk) and i have to say hands down the most accurate barrels on the market.

I built a carbine M4 using this barrel and it is one of the most accurate carbines I own. I also have a 16" Spikes Tactical mid-length barrel and the Blackhole holds a tighter grouping. I have not been able to tell the difference between the Blackhole carbine and Spikes mid-length barrels as far as recoil though. I wish they made this a a 20" rifle barrel.

Great barrel, nice and crisp rifling. The 1x8 twist isn't good for 55gr. bullets, 2-3 moa. I shot multiple sub moa groups with Hornady 68gr. match hpbt but sold because I didn't like the m4 profile... just my opinion.

I Have An 18 Inch Version Of This Barrel And Love It, Now If You Will Make This Barrel With A Mid Length Gas Port I Will Buy Some, Im Not A Fan Of Carbine Length Gas Ports
