Receiver threads .038 too long
Surprisingly, this Aero Precision upper had thread length 0.038 longer than spec. I had to buy an AR10 lapping tool to bring it back down to spec so my barrel would seat flush and my Diamondhead handguard would sit within 0.005 against the receiver. Really surprised at this from Aero.

like several other Aero Precision uppers i have, this one maintains a snug upper-to-barrel fit which i prefer. it's well made and looks great!

Receiver good to go, Aero CS not so much.
What can one say?
It is a decent upper receiver at a very competitive price.
Shipping was reasonably fast, packaging was excellent, no complaints with SA - they've always delivered.
My gripe is with Aero Precision customer service (and as such totally not reflecting on SA in any way.)
Aero's CS is just plain bad. No other way to put it:
I own a set of supposedly matched receivers of which the fit is not very good - not even close for a precision rifle set up.
Which is why I purchased this upper to check - clearly it's the lower.
Repeated calls and emails to Aero but no reply - whatsoever.
If their receiver sets were not so affordable I'd be looking elsewhere.
Which is why 4 stars - not 5. -

Quality made. Fit and finish were very impressive when matched with the Aero lower
