38 Special 158 Grain FMJ Sellier & Bellot SB38P - 50rds

Fired S & B 38 Special 158 gr. fmj rounds in Smith and Wesson Model 637 Airweight 5-round revolver with 2" barrel : results of range test were that rounds revealed "Creep" {bullet-to-case "Set-Back", a Smith and Wesson term} in every 5th round. Five rounds loaded, 4 rounds fired, then cylinder opened and 5th round checked for "Set-Back" : degree of set-back was easily noticeable to just an eye-check, but verified using magnifying glass. I'm an old cop who fired +P and +P+1 loads from a S & W Model 36 back in the 80's, and these S & B rounds are hotter than the +P+1 loads back then. I understand that every gun fires ammo differently from others, but these rounds are even hotter than Norma Range 158 gr. fmj ammo. Would not recommend these for use in a 2" revolver, even a 637 like my S & W that is "+P" rated continuous. Use caution.

I actually received my shipment earlier than expected!
I went to the range and ran some thru my revolver and was very pleased with their performance.
The only issue I had was with the condition of the boxes and the plastic frame keeping the rounds separated. The boxes were very worn. Even had trouble getting the rounds out of the boxes w/out tearing the boxes apart.
Having said that I knocked off one star for the container’s condition.
The ammunition itself was very clean, in perfect condition, and shot well with little recoil.
Despite the condition of the boxes, I would order again.
