Posted by KAT on 26th Apr 2015
You should decide first what you will use your AR-15 for? Hunting? Plinking? Home protection? What caliber do you want? .223/5.56mm, 300BLK, 6.8SPC, 6.5 Grendel or go large with an AR-10 (.308/7.62mm).
Decide on your barrel length. Pistol length or rifle length? You have a range of about 7” all the way to over 24”. Barrels are available in different profiles as well. Materials from standard chromoly to stainless steel and special treatments to harden the surface like nitride or melonite. Barrel twist should be considered and will vary based on barrel length, caliber and what weight of bullet you want to shoot. Choose length first, then caliber and the rest of the available options will shake out he rest.
We carry the full line of Black Hole Weaponry barrels and we include a FREE stripped upper receiver (except .308 - discounted upper) with every barrel.
